Cats and Boomsticks

Okay,
So I'm not one who normally gushes over video games but this one takes me back. It's none other than that beer swilling, alien killing, ass kicking renegade Duke Nukem. After fourteen years since first being announced, the blonde brute is FINALLY making his epic comeback in Duke Nukem Forever. 2K Games and developer Gearbox announced Friday that the legendary first-person shooter will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in North America on May 3rd and internationally on May 6th.

The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here," 2K prez Christoph Hartmann proudly proclaimed in a statement. "May 3, 2011 marks Duke's return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!"

The last thing to leave us hanging this long was, of course, was Guns and Roses' Chinese Democracy. And even though being a decent album, it wasn't over a decade great that it should've been. Big weight on the developers shoulders at 2k. All eyes are on you.

The next big news I have was also published on Yahoo. It's seems our favorite vigilante cape crusader is coming back with an unlikely villain. Not only will we have our ever so sultry feline Catwoman, played by Ann Hathoway, but we will have Bane. Bane who will be portrayed by none other than Tom Hardy.

You might remember Tom in Bronson, a true story about a crazed 19-year-old British prisoner named Michael Peterson who wanted to make a name for himself. Who, after 30 years of solitary confinement, the person known as Michael faded away and the super ego Charles Bronson emerged. Tom plays a most excellent psycho path which gives me hope for Bane.

This, as we know, will be the last Batman written by the Nolan brothers :(, but we might as well enjoy what we have while we have it. They, unlike most of their predecessors, took Batman to where it belonged. They made it true to what Batman was intended to be, dark and aggressive. They treated us like adults and didn't try to distract us from bad story lines with big name stars and pretty colored special affects. It's what every superhero movie should be.

So, in conclusion ladies and jelly spoons, there's a lot of good things coming our way. Let me know what you think, or I'm going to find something fluffy and shoot it. Js
